Webhook

A webhook is an automated message, usually a JSON HTTP POST, that one application sends to a URL when something happens, such as a new lead submission. The receiving system, such as a CRM workflow, Zapier or Make, uses the data to create records and trigger actions.

Why agents care

Webhooks are how calculator leads reach a CRM without copying and pasting. Setting one up once means every future lead lands with its fields mapped.

Example

Example: a seller net sheet submission POSTs the contact, the inputs and the estimated net to a HighLevel inbound webhook, which creates the contact and starts a seller workflow.

Questions by topic

Webhook: common questions

Do I need a developer to use webhooks?

No. CRMs like HighLevel and tools like Zapier and Make provide the URL. You paste it into your settings.

Are webhook URLs secret?

Treat them like passwords. Anyone with the URL can post data to it.
